I/O Winterization

Getting your I/O winterized is critical. Unlike an outboard motor, which is relatively cheap to repair, a blown engine in an I/O means thousands of dollars in repair bills or worse, an unpowered boat. Our qualified service technicians will do the following when winterizing your I/O:

-Add fuel stabilizer
-Lube all external grease fittings
-Check all fluid levels
-Change gear oil in outdrive
-Replace fuel filter as necessary
-Winterize cooling system with a non-toxic anti-freeze

We also offer a deluxe I/O Winterization, which adds the following steps:

-Remove drive unit
-Inspect and lube u-joints
-Inspect and lube gimbal bearings
-Check engine alignment with factory tool
-Inspect and lube engine coupler
-Re-install drive unit with new gasket as required
-Inspect all engine hoses, boots and bellows
-Inspect all power train hydraulic hoses
-Check all fluid levels
-Lube power steering actuator valve
-Remove prop and check shaft for bends and fishing line
-Lube prop shaft and re-install prop
-Remove fuel filter and run engine on special storage mix
